On 2nd September, 2002, Westpac Banking Corporation signed an agreement with ABC Learning Centres Ltd to provide child care places for the children of Westpac personnel at a number of centres located around the country.

The centres offer care which suits the specific needs of Westpac staff in each location, including shift workers and other working arrangements. Westpac and ABC Corporate Care are working together to ensure that Westpac’s workplace is as flexible as possible for families. Quality childcare is a key concern for many Westpac employees.

ABC is supporting Westpac in its aim to be an employer of choice. The work/life balance benefits of the Corporate program are an essential element of the program’s success. Access to quality childcare is a big issue for many Westpac staff with families and this initiative is designed to make it easier to find high quality, affordable child care places.

Each Westpac Corporate Care centre sets aside child care places for Westpac staff and will provide childcare for 0 to preschool aged children, and where possible, for school aged children. This involves school holiday care as well as before and after school care.
