Centrelink employees around Australia now have greater options to access childcare services, with ABC Learning Centres awarded on 17th January 2008, a contract for the potential provision of childcare services.

Centrelink recognises that balancing work and family responsibilities can be challenging. Under the contract, Centrelink will work closely with ABC Learning Centres to establish childcare services in areas of high demand by Centrelink parents, such as Tuggeranong, near the organisation’s new national headquarters.

The childcare arrangement will mean Centrelink employees have more options to access childcare places for their children, including long day care and outside school hours care.

The agreement between Centrelink and ABC Learning Centres is for an initial five-year period and may be extended for two further periods of five years.
